Mission
The paramount mission of the USM CAS BIODEP Water Testing Laboratory is to protect and promote human health equipped with appropriate facilities and competent manpower. It is geared to assist concerned agencies in providing potable water to the clientele through bacteriological and chemical analyses of drinking water and provides adequate and relevant information regarding safe water and handling consumption.
The USM CAS BIODEP Water Testing Laboratory envisions a peaceful, developed and healthy society with an empowered clientele who asserts quality life through quality water.
The USM CAS BIODEP Water Testing Laboratory aims to:
1. To acquire state of the art laboratory equipment for water testing;
2. To develop skilled and competent personnel in the water testing laboratory;
3. To provide affordable and reliable bacteriological water testing for water suppliers;
4. To conduct researches that will improve water quality for human consumption;
5. To provide adequate and relevant information to the general public regarding safe drinking water; and
6. To create and strengthen linkages, collaborative efforts and network through the enhancement of analyses, instruction, research, extension and production.
